Chances are good that as you read this\, you’re holding one or there’s one on the table near you right now. Look around in magazines and billboards; beverage photography is everywhere\, and as more and more craft beverages become popular\, you’ll only see them more often. But shooting beverages means shooting glass\, and glass can be an unforgiving subject. \nJoin our hosts\, Troy Miller and Steve Brazill\, as they talk with still life and food photographer\, Freddy Clark\, on the best practices when photographing beverages\, including: \n\nHow to prepare bottles\, cans\, and glasses to get a professional look\nBeverage styling techniques and tricks\nHow to approach lighting a scene\nUse of light modifiers for different looks\n\n  \n\n  \nMeet our guest\nFreddy Clark’s career took a couple of twists and turns before becoming a Beverage and Food Photographer. After a decade working full time in radio\, the birth of his daughter inspired his love for photography. After spending a couple of years shooting weddings for other studios\, he was asked if he would do some food shots for a local restaurant and found his calling. \nToday\, Freddy works for Beverage Brands and restaurants as the photographer of Santé Beverage & Food Photography. This event provides an amazing opportunity to hone and share the photographic skills that make up your art. Competition is not always about winning—The very nature of competing will drive you to improve all the skills needed to create superior work. Winning is just another perk of competition as the real reward comes from growing your skills. \n  \n\n  \nNew Competition Divisions\nRegular Division \nThe Regular Division is designed for those who do not hold a Master level degree\, Photographic Craftsman\, or an equivalent award in PPA\, PPC\, or other photographic organization. \nImages submitted in this division will be will be judged to encourage education growth of the maker. \nIf you do not hold Master level degree but still wish to enter the Master division for your first Image Competition entry of the year\, you may do so\, but note that you cannot switch to Regular division during that year. \nMaster Division \nThe Master Division is designed for those who hold a Master level degree\, Photographic Craftsman\, or an equivalent award in PPA\, PPC\, or other photographic organization.
